Faithfulness Counts

Faithfulness Counts

Ruth 1:16 (NIV)

“…Don’t urge me to leave you or to turn back from you. Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God.” – Ruth 1:16 (NIV)

Ruth was blessed for her faithfulness in a beautiful way. When she promised to stay with Naomi instead of choosing an easier life, God took care of her and provided for all of her needs.

When Ruth told Naomi, “…and your God my God” (Ruth 1:16), even though she was from Moab and not from Israel, God became her God and gave her a future hope (Proverbs 23:18). She was blessed during her lifetime and beyond, for generations to come, because of her faithfulness to the God of her in-law.

Our God is faithful God Who does no wrong (Deuteronomy 32:4). He received us when we were living apart from Christ, when we were excluded and without hope. Now we can come to God through the Holy Spirit because of what Christ has done for us (Ephesians 2:18).

As parents, we need to teach our children how to grow in the faithfulness that the Holy Spirit gives so freely. To the faithful You show Yourself faithful and to those with integrity, You show integrity (2 Samuel 22:26).  Parents, let us remain faithful in teaching our children the principles of God. It counts.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, I pray that our children will search for faithful people to be their companions and to enjoy the company of those who love and know You. Lord, give them strength to remain faithful whether times are good or difficult because You will not forsake Your faithful ones, in the name of Jesus, Amen.
